Brenda Stone

Artist's Statement:

A friend once told me "to create you
destroy what does not yet exist".
As an artist and creative being, I
take that very seriously in
everything I create. I always strive
to find a certain truth in my
paintings, and in the process of
creating I hope to give credit to
what He has already created.

"Being creative is seeing something
that doesn't already exist. You need
to find out how to bring it into being
and in that way you are a playmate
with God." (Michell Shea)

My mediums are: oil, pastel, and
water color. While specializing in
portraits, I also do land scapes, still
life and works of imagination.

I am a proud member of the
Watauga Valley Art League and,
feeling that art is a continuing
learning experience, I am currently
studing under portrait master painter
Urban Bird.
