Bob Hand

Robert A. "Bob" Hand was born in
Brooklyn, New York. At an early age
he developed a life long interest in
aviation, and when World War II
broke out he inlisted in the Air Force
and flew a "tour" of 35 missions
before he retired with the rank of
Captain.

After military service, he pursued
an art career by working with an
established illustrator and then
going on to serve as Art/Creative
Director for a New England Ad
Agency for twenty-one years.
Following this he worked as
Creative Merchandising Manager for
Heublein, Inc. in Hartford,
Connecticut for another fifteen
years.

Leaving New England in 1987, he
resumed his art activities in Flordia
as a free-lance creative service,
and continued his design and
illustration practice. With able
assistance from his wife, Nyela,
they share a home studio in
Johnson City, TN where they moved
in 2001 to be nearer their children.
Bob and Nyela are members of the
Watauga Valley Art League. Author
of "The Last Raid", Bob is writing his
second book and painting in oils and
acrylics whenever he can.
