Joan Elliott
Joan works primarily with oil
and beeswax and frequently
integrates found objects
into her artwork. She sets
aside time each day to
observe nature's profusion
of colors, shapes and
textures abundant in the
Appalachian area. She loves
to recreate Nature's
abstract patterns and
designs. Her art often
attempts to express
personal experiences and
examines the human
relationship to the natural
environment.

After a career as a social
worker, Joan returned to
school and received her BFA
with a concentration in
painting from ETSU in 2006.
She lives and works in
Unicoi, TN.
