League Meetings: Meetings are held on the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM at the Johnson City Senior Center, 609 East Myrtle Street. Each meeting will feature a guest speaker or program. The following programs are already scheduled: JAN- FEB- MAR- APR- MAY- JUN- WVAL Art Shows scheduled for 2010: SUMMER SHOW AT SYCAMORE SHOALS: Show Chairpersons - June Simmons (753-7034) & Patsy Reading (743-7799) Annual Exhibit from June 27 thru July 29 in main gallery of Sycamore shoals Park in Elizabethton, TN. Artists must be members of Watauga Valley Art League to display at this event which has both a judged event and member exhibit. Sunday, June 27 from 1:30 to 4:00 will be the artists reception with special music. First Canvass Exhibit at Sycamore Shoals: Show Chairperson - to be announced This is our first all canvass exhibit and will be held from August 2 thru August 31 in the main gallery of Sycamore Shoals Park in Elizabethton. Artists must be members of WVAL to display in this exhibit. Opening Saturday August 7 from 1:30 to 4:00. Sixth Annual NEWELL-HENDERSHOT WATERMEDIA EXHIBITION will be held at the Renaissance Center in Kingsport: Show Chairpersons - Kathy Hawke, Barbara Jernigan, and Patsy reading This exhibit will be from August 29 thru September 23 in the main gallery of the Renaissance Center in Kingsport. Any member of the following art organizations may enter: Tennessee watercolor Society, Bristol Art Guild, Kingsport Art Guild, and Watauga Valley Art League. This is a judged watermedia exhibit. The opening awards reception will be held Sunday August 29 from 1:00 to 4:00. A watercolor workshop will take place September 30 thru October 2 - if interested please contact Barbara Jernigan or Patsy Reading. Christmas Show at Sycamore shoals: Show Chairperson - Judy Donley (547-9707) This Annual Exhibit will be held from November 28 thru January 4. 2011. Artists must be members of WVAL to enter this show. The opening reception along with special music will be held Sunday November 28.
